Since June 2009 Angela Mahr is a full-time member of the Automotive Group and responsible for usability testing and evaluation. Her research area is "User-Centric Multimodality in the Car". Her PhD topic in Psychology is "Making Use of Crossmodal Perception: Efficient Information Presentation and Performance Enhancement for Drivers with the Help of Semanticons", which is seen as part of her DFKI research area.
From 2003 to 2009 she studied Psychology at Saarland University with main focus on cognitive psychology and research methods.
During her internship at BMW in 2006/07 she gathered additional knowledge about user studies and experimental design. This was supplemented in 2007 during an internship at DFKI about human error modeling with Anthony Jameson. Since autumn 2008 Angela Mahr has been working for the DFKI's Automotive Group as a student research assistant. She finished her Diploma thesis in 2009 about the possibility to reduce danger in road traffic by using subtle attentional cues.
