 Sandro Castronovo is working as a full member in the automotive group. His research is focussed on interactive Vehicle2X applications as well as multiparty- and multimodal-interaction in an automotive context. In this area he is working on his PhD entitled "Beyond the "Push"-Paradigm: Enhanced Forms of Information Access and Novel Application Areas for Vehicle2X-Communication Networks". In the projects CARMINA an SIM-TD he is involved in HMI development and multimodal dialogue systems. Sandro studied Computer Science with minor subject computational linguistics at Saarland University.
During his studies he gathered experience in multimodal dialog systems as a research assistant at DFKI in the projects TALK and i2home. He finished his diploma thesis in 2009 with topic „Robust analysis of multiparty-meetings using a knowledge based discourse memory“ in the EU project AMIDA (Augmented multiparty interaction with distance access). In the same context he worked on constrained-based layout techniques.
